The history of Japanese Literature, written by MIKAMI Sanji and KOUZU Kuwasaburo (1890), was the first book that surveyed the history of Japanese national literature. HAGA Yaichi, who was called the father of Japanese National Literature, wrote Ten Lectures of National Literature in Japan in 1899.
