What harm is done? Primary victimization is the term used to denote the harm caused by interaction with the victimizer. Secondary victimization denotes the harm to the victim which is caused by the negative reactions of the social environment. In this paper an attempt is made to explain the background of secondary victimization. In addition victim services are those activities which are applied in response to the victimization, with the intention of relieving suffering and facilitating recovery.
