Inspired by Kant's Religion within the Boundaries of Mere Reason, Hegel wrote a short piece entitled "Das Leben Jesu (The Life of Jesus)" in 1795. Although it is apt to be regarded as his trial writing, the piece signifies in my opinion his decisive development from Kant's theory. Kant suggested the way to interprete Jesus in his historical personality, characterizing Jesus' existence as "the personified idea of the good principle". But the detailed description of his life in the contemporary situation had yet to be elaborated. In point of fact, Hegel took over this task. He tried to describe Jesus as the ideal teacher of morality in the Kantian sense. Comparing his statements in "The Life of Jesus" with accounts of the Gospels, I examine how he paraphrases Jesus' words, as well as how he composes the whole plot. From this I point out that he accentuates so much Jesus' confrontation with the folk community as the obstacle that foils the latter's intention of morality that his views tone more unfavorable to the Jewish community than the stories of the Gospels. His stance grows in intensity in his next piece which was afterwards entitled "The Positivity of the Christian Religion". I also deal with this piece and explain that Jesus is here described not as consistentin his action as well as intention, but as falling victim to the authoritarian community and causing a sect called Christianity. In my opinion Hegel confirms through these arguments his critical position on Christianity as a "positive" religion and seeks to surpass Kant's moral philosophy which forms the fundamentals of his views on Jesus' life., 17, KJ00008333999, 研究論文, Research Paper}, pages = {171--190}, title = {Die Entwicklung der Leben-Jesu-Philosophie von Kant zu Feuerbach (2) or The Development of the Philosophy of Jesus' Life from Kant to Feuerbach (2)}, volume = {19}, year = {2013}, yomi = {ヒミ, キヨシ} }
